Ko'a Coral Hand Towel in Cream

$22

The Towel: Cream colored tea towel/hand towel with orange Ko'a (coral) artwork. It is a Hawaiian belief that the coral animals or polyps were the first creatures to emerge in creation. Hawaii’s unique and isolated geography has allowed unique species and varieties to develop. These lovely towels would be equally at home in your kitchen or bathroom.

The Story: Created by artist Palapala (Barbara) Chung.  Her company is based in Maui, Hawaii. Palapala designs and carves original blockprints of Hawaiian motifs and subjects, combining them with contemporary form and function. The images are flora and fauna found on the islands or subjects related to important aspects of Hawaiian culture.  Palapala’s artwork is inspired by her love of Hawai’i – the ocean,  the hula and the Hawaiian culture.

The Details:  20 x 28 inches, 100% cotton.  Care Instructions: Machine wash warm, tumble dry medium. Do not iron directly on image.
