The Chocolate:  Located on the west side of Hawai'i Island (the Big Island), Kealakekua is hot and dry. Normally, cacao trees would be unable to survive the harsh lava field conditions, but with irrigation they thrive. The cacao of this chocolate bar is farmed, fermented and dried by the Hard Rock Gardens Estate in Kealakekua.  Manoa Chocolates uses this Big Island-grown cacao is used to craft this luscious 70% Dark Chocolate dairy free bar. Each bar is crafted from ethically sourced cacao and the highest quality ingredients.  We also offer this very special chocolate in our Chocolate Island Mango Gift Basket.

The Story of Cacao: Hawaii is the only state in the U.S. with a climate appropriate for cultivating the tropical fruit tree Theobroma Cacao.
