The district of Hamakuapoko starts at Maliko Bay and encompasses Ho'okipa, Makawao and Pa'ia. Where today fields of sugar cane bend with the wind, once stood majestic forests of native koa, sandalwood and 'ohi'a trees.

 Daniel Sullivan, an award-winning photographer based in Maui, explores the the diverse, unique landscape of breathtaking waterfalls, multicolored beaches and the rich cultural heritage of Hawaii.
