The Trio:  The Maile Rainforest Collection is based on the beautifully unique and fresh house fragrance added to custom treatments that we supply to premier Hawaiian spas. The trio includes Maile 4.5oz Body Crème, 4.5 oz Face & Body Mist & 5oz Maile Shea Butter Soap presented in an organza gift bag.

Fragrance:  Clean, fresh, woodsy, with a pure, slightly sweet, green fragrance—the unique, intoxicating smell of a Hawaiian rainforest is treasured equally by both women and men.

The Story:  Maile leaves are fragrant when bruised or crushed and smells like the common non-native lauaʻe or maile-scented fern commonly used in landscaping. The flowers also have the same nice fragrance as the leaves. Stripped bark gives a sweet odor resembling vanilla.  All parts of plant contain coumarin, which gives Maile a pleasant fragrance.  Uncle George Na‘ope, the man who co-founded the most famous hula competition in the world, the Merrie Monarch Festival called Maile “the lei of the gods.
